Office Information      Montour County is an 8th Class county with approximately 8,200 parcels.
 

The records for all properties in Montour County are kept in the Assessment Office.  Property record cards indicate the assessed value, lot size or acreage, the size of any buildings on the property, owners name, address and the parcel identification number. The assessed value is the figure used to calculate real estate taxes by taking the millage times the assessed value. 
 
The County and township/borough real estate tax year is January 1st through December 31st, with tax notices being mailed on March 1st. The school tax year begins July 1st through June 30th of the following year. School tax notices are mailed in july.
                                                                 
 
 
THE HOMESTEAD EXCLUSION APPLICATION (ACT 72)

This application is available by calling the Danville Area School District at 570-271-3268 at Ext. 1030. If you live in the Warrior Run School District you may call 570-649-5138. The deadline to apply is March 1st of each year.

If you have already applied you do not need to reapply.
