Mission Statement
The mission of the Montour County Prison is to protect society by providing incarceration of adjudicated offenders and persons suspected of being offenders of the law as a deterrent to the commission of crime while providing a safe and secure environment for offenders and staff; offering programs for personal growth and development and positive reintroduction into society; and providing basic physical, medical and mental health needs while protecting the basic constitutional rights of the offenders.

Montour County Prison maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding institutional sexual harassment, assault or abuse. Policy and procedures to address issues of this nature have been developed and implemented in accordance with the Federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Standards.
